Description
For this ride the rider can choose from three loops. Each ride goes north
along the West Rim Road from the Village of Blackwell, takes a connecting
road over to the Cedar Run Road, then returns to Blackwell via the Cedar Run
Road and the Pine Creek Bike Trail. The highlights of the ride are the
big and deep woods of the West Rim Road, a four to five mile downhill into
Cedar Run Canyon, a couple of good swimming holes on Cedar Run and Pine
Creek, and the Villages of Cedar Run and Blackwell.
Getting There
From Wellsboro go south 12 miles on Rt. 287 to the Village of Morris. Turn
right on Rt. 414 at the upper end of the village and continue 5 miles to the
Village of Blackwell. You will see the parking area for the bike trail on
the left just before you cross Pine Creek. Be careful coming into
Blackwell. There is a one lane bridge over Babbs Creek with a right
angle turn on the other side. Then the road is very narrow for a bit.
This is not a problem if everyone takes it slow.
